Pity non of the other MP3 player manufacturers could get their heads together and deveolp a remote control interface like iPods so you can use via your car head unit without having to touch the ipod unit with it fully controled via your car radio menu system (as OE or via Pioneer's remote interface unit etc.)

I use my iTrip which, since I removed the EU volume restriction, has been playing an absolute blinder Well chuffed with it!

Like the Nano - one of the guys at work was at the Apple store this morning to get one, so we've all had a look.

Nice & slim - fits in the top pocket easily. Shame it still comes with the cr@p Apple earphones though. Chromed back soon gets covered in fingerprints with everyone mauling it too!

It amazes me how Apple went from designing something as breathtaking (relatively speaking) as the iMac to something as bland and uninspiring as the iPod range.

I'll stick with my IPod - I'd snap that in half!!!
+ it's too small (in capacity) to be of any use to me.......

I'm sure it will sell by the bulk load though - which is only good for Apple

No not one of them!! that exactly what I do NOT want - an FM transmitter!! You misinterpretted what I typed which is a standardised remote control interface for non-iPod players.

I mean a fully integrated system that can remotely control the menu system ofan MP3 player without the need to touch it (apart from plug it in)...like this:

http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/product_...onomy_id=25-38

Simply connect your iPod® to the Pioneer iPod® adapter for distraction-free, hands-on-the-wheel safe driving. Your iPod completely integrates into your familiar sound system. Control it just like you normally handle your in-car audio: right on your headunit, using the remote, or best yet, using your steering wheel remote control

Free to listen: Just a quick glance at your headunit says it all: song, artist, album and more. Via the headunit or remote, you scan the music you want by playlist, genre, artist, album or simply search for a specific song.*

Bet you never thought a Pioneer headunit could be this cool? Clearly, it is time to indulge your digital lifestyle and enjoy thousands of songs on your iPod® without a single tad of quality loss - all thanks to your Pioneer iPod® adapter.
BUT for a mp3 player, that is NOT an iPod

Don't bet on it, have a look at this to get an idea of how durable the nano is.
