Problem with cats marking their territory

Problem with cats marking their territory
My two neighbours' cats are having a territorial dispute over my front garden and drive. As well as several fights during the day and night they have taken to pissing on my front hedge.
Noticed this today, when Denzil (pure black cat) wondered onto my drive and peed on the hedge and walked off. About two minutes later Toby (grey tabby) wonders up and does exactly the same in the same spot.
Problem is, my hedge is now dying. Does anyone know anything I can do to stop them from doing this? I have thought about going out there and peeing on the hedge myself (it is my hedge after all).
Please only reply with serious suggestions, none of the 'get yourself a shotgun' sort of stuff that usually appears on these threads.
Thanks
IanF

apparently... if a male wee's where a cat usually wee's they will leave well alone... not quite sure how or if it works for sure, but worth a go eh?? means you get a public wee to disgust the neighbours... and if they say anything just tell em that as long as they let their cats do it then so will you and you may even claim their hedge in your territory marking too.....

I work with wildlife rehabilitation for the RSPCA and my wife is a vet. Best advice I can offer is get the hose out and if you see them spraying on your property give them a good soaking.

Cats don't like the smell of Citrus, you can get repellent from most
garden centres.
The Lion poo thing is also true, and as far as i'm aware, very effective !!

The repellent stuff from household/garden centres doesn't work. So that's saved you a fiver
We still haven't cured our problem, but it's not so bad now....one cat got ran over, and the other disappeared (no it wasn't me ). So thats 2 less to worry about. And the remaining dominant male seems to have made a good claim on our territory.
Still doesn't bury its ****e though

We have our neighbours cats coming in to our garden to rip open rubbish or leave a present! Or like yesterday morning a pigeon ripped to pieces, so they come to clear it up coz I was just about puking!
I've found some Orange Oil stuff works as they hate it and Pepper, or if all else fails an empty washing up liquid bottle with water in it, when you see the cat coming in to your garden just open the door or hang out a window and squirt it, makes them move anyways!

A cat used to regularly use the soft top on my old convertible as a bed during the day so I started spraying it with water from one of those cheap plastic hand spray bottles, it soon stopped doing it
My old neighbour had seven cats who used to use our garden as a toilet so we bought a dog, that worked very well too
