Nail Varnish Question - for the girls
...or blokes - I'm the open minded sort!
Any tips for getting the varnish out when the bottle runs low? There's plenty of it in there - I can see it - but I can't get enough out on the brush to do a whole nail at a time without getting that horrible brush mark effect. It's all Max Factor, Boots No7 and stuff - why don't they make the brushes longer...?
Also - can I mix colours? Would 2 different colours mix together or would I get stripes? Might be a way to use up all the dregs.....
Forget the Middle East and Terrorism - this is an important issue!

Dilute with nail varnish remover, I doubt turps would be sufficiently volatile, it could take ages to dry.
No reason why you can't mix colours - may end up with some odd results though.

Blokes!
The thickness of it isn't an issue - it's just getting to it. Diluting it would thin the colour and, I'm guessing, would also affect the amount of time it takes to harden and it's durability.
SJ - I've tried, but he's just so fond of the Axel Rose shade!
davegtt - erm - yeeeesssssss. Presumably you'd reccomend me using my best china for that then....?

DBW, if you don't mind me asking, but why are you using the horrible brushes they stick on the inside of the lids? Get yourself a decent set of nail varnish brushes.

Of course - slaps head in realisation - I needn't have bothered with a whole thread - I just needed to PM Telboy!
(Nail varnish brushes...? Really?)
<scurries of to Boots>
Oh - and why should I have to throw them away - there's about 1/3 of a bottle left in each one. I paid for a whole bottle, I expect to use a whole bottle!

The clear stuff is not for putting on nails - the clear stuff is for stopping ladders running up your stockings!
(Or for fly fishing....)

dont put nail varnish remover in as it makes it go all sticky and messes up the bristles on the brush.
I tilt the bottle and use what i can that way, then i use an artist paintbrush when it starts running really low. I totally agree with you that you pay for a full bottle and therefore should be able to use it all!
