Bananas...!!

I left about 6 years ago through w**k and it was good then.
I've been back a few times since and it looks craaazy..!!! I've even heard rumours that it's elbowing Dublin off the top as a quality party town.... :-o

Cardiff has changed a lot in the last couple of years - we dont have pubs anymore, everyhing is called 'Bar' something - and rather than streets we have 'quarters'

Avoid the bay as its full of overpriced wine bars, poseurs and groups of scallies and Somalis looking for people to mug.

Town is OK, but avoid the big clubs as they are all pretty crap - decent pubs in town are :

The City Arms or Callaghans

erm... and thats about it unless you want to sit around with a load of junior managers in Burton suits all pretending they have loads of money.

This time of year its pretty quite most places though as none of the students are back yet.

Depends what sort of thing you like though really.....

Well, I spent 2 nights in Cardiff last week for week.

I thought it was rubbish. But, We were pretty drunk before we even left the hotel, it was a tuesday and wednesday night (not the best nights) and we ended up in the worse pubs/bars I think I've ever seen.

Cardiff women were not nice at all, I'm hoping it was due to the fact we went out mid week and that wasnt the normal "qulaity" of people.

Though to add, We had no trouble there and everyone we spoke to was really friendly. Even people we stopped in the street to ask for directions were helpful.

No welsh people though, everyone we spoke to seemed to be from England.

I've just got back from the gower, somewhat lacking in bars and clubs...but then thats not what you really go there for. Besides I brought my own 'chemical' fun with me so was happy regardless
