Do you enjoy driving friends' cars?
Part of the joy of owning cars is taking mates cars for a spin and seeing how it compares to your own. This is made possible because your own insurer provides third party cover to drive your friend's car (provided he/she has insurance on that car).
Well that is coming to an end for some people. Some insurance companies are removing that third party cover for other vehicles. Norwich Union, RAC & ASDA are phasing it out, Royal & Sun Alliance, More Th>n, Axa and Cornhill Direct are considering it.
Others like Churchill, Admiral and Siansbury's have no plans to remove third party cover for other vehicles, for now anyway.
More info here.
Check what your insurance policy covers before you renew next time.

I drive my other half's car under my own 3rd party, cos for the amount of times I drive it, it doesn't seem worth it paying the higher premium to add me to the insurance (I'm a high risk)
