Upgrading firmware on a Nokia 6230

What's involved with getting a firmware upgrade done on a Nokia 6230? The contract's with O2 (business tariff) through an airtime provider. Can I go to an O2 store to get it done there and then or does it have to be sent away? Any idea of costs?
My phone will not hold a GPRS connection when connected via bluetooth to my PDA for any length of time and I've been told that a firmware upgrade should sort it.
