Birmingham City Centre evacuated?
According to BBC, not many details yet though...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/4668313.stm
Hope it's just a precaution.

Yep - can confirm that police have sealed off the centre past the ring road - people ar ewalking the street and the traffic is very very heavy!
Initally they were going to search bars etc on Broad Street but they've now taken the precaution of evacuating the centre. I've managed to get back from there as luckily I know the escape routes but don't fancy being any one of the people who are stuck there now!!
iLocal radio station have reported that police are telling people to simply leave the city centre.
Stupid thing to say but didn't expect this to happen on my doorstep!! Kinda brings the reality of it home to you when you see somewhere you go or come from on the news and talks of bomb scares etc.

All controlled explosions on TWM Bus 105 on Corporation Street outsid ethe Square Peg!
**** know's what they ment by credible intelligence?!
Reminds me of the time when some clever spark placed a pizza box with wires sticking out underneath somebody's car round the corner. They evacuated the entire street so the bomb disposal team could do their stuff!

Just got back to Paree after an eventful weekend in B'Ham.
Was at a wedding reception on Sat afternoon,
6.30pm we headed down to Broad St for some beers (there were none at the Islamic reception).
7.30pm Just as the happy couple emerged to join us for a swally the bar staff (Figure of 8) told us to stand out the back street
8.00pm told to move along - went to Holiday Inn which was still open
9.30pm Police moved us out of the H-Inn, went south to the Wellington(?)
stood outside it for 1/2 hour, the cast of "42nd Street" kept us all entertained
10.00pm Police moved us out to the ring road, sat in MacDonalds for a couple of hours, saw some sights (1 pirate, Wonder Woman, Tinkerbell, Supergirl, 2 lapdancers, some neds kicking off "I'll knife yawoo, mayte", lads in tux's everything.
Midnight - bride got in touch with her Mum, we walked to her house (45 mins) whereupon Mumsy whipped up a cracking curry which 25 Jocks and 10 cousins in from Pakistan all enjoyed, before a crowded night not sleeping on the floor (some tosser snoring like a rhino).
6.00am saw on the news all was clear, got a taxi back to H-Inn
7.30am got in went to bed!
some of our mates are still at B-Ham airport coz their flight back to Glasgow was cancelled.
Eventful weekend, Asmaa and Jamal won't forget their wedding night in a hurry!!

I used to go out in Bristol regularly and it's a great place, until you meet the people who live there.
