The majority of the population of that penninsula, regardless of nationality hate the Japanese with a passion we europeans couldn't begin to comprehend.
Since they tore through that entire region, all the way from Siberia down to New Guinea, and as far across as Burma, murdering, raping and pillaging all before them, for the best part of 150 years, it's not difficult to see why the hatred is so deep rooted.

Dare I say it - probably be censored but here goes.
Japan committed pretty much equivalent atrocities to many of it's Asian neighbours as Germany did in the second world war.
Difference was that jews weren't killed.

There was a TV program on about this a few weeks ago. The hatred of Japan is inbuilt in the Korean national psyche, and is positively encouraged in Korean schools.
