Abbey - it's free and they pay you interest.

abbey does have some caveats around that so read the small print, I went to contact them and after waiting on the phone forever and not even speaking to someone about opening a new bank account I just gave up!

Bottom line is *all* the banks are shocking and they know **** all about SME needs IMHO.

Another vote for Abbey.

You can open account over internet (www.anbusiness.com)

They supply envelopes to post cheques. Never needed to visit a branch yet. Recommended as its completely FREE.

Abbey suits me fine, you learn to work with there system, the odd time I need change I use my personal account at Lloyds. I have used Natwest in the past and they offer full banking facilities but you will pay through the nose for them. I prefer to save £50 - £75 per month and manage with an abbey account, take the money you save using them as extra salary, I do!

i use barclays, have 2 business accounts in diff branches.
the london bridge account manager sucks and is never about, but the essex branch account manager is spendid and always helpful.
he even sorted me out a temp overdraft to buy some extra stock with, on the spot!

plus there are loads of branches about to pay in etc....
