Hello
That's shocking. Only 61 and died during a heart operation.

Very Sad news, he was like a friendly Uncle. The guy you grew up wiv on the Telly. You didn't pay much attention to him but the programme was always on in the afternoons when u got in from college and he was always there.
I can't see the programme being the same without him.
RIP

I thought he was the smarmiest, most inept presenter ever to have reached my living room. He was in my top ten "faces one would like to punch"
However, it's sad when a well-known figure dies like that.

he was OK as presenters go, its just a shame that it wasn't Terry Wogan instead.

Didn't like the man, but am shocked by this thread as I read only today that he was making a good recovery from his op. Feel for his nearest and dearest.

Sticky Micky : I believe they had recorded about 5 weeks worth of progs up front before he was taken ill. They'd only just got in alternative presenters.

I had no idea, **** the BBC, just go to Scoobynet...
Obnoxious man, but he made a living out of it.
In fact he made a caricature of himself.
Was it Whitby he was from?
RIP.
BTW : Where's Bob Holness these days?
"I'll take a P, please Bob."
