I have what i would consider an "average sized" head and i wear the 52mm. The bigger ones (60mm iirc?) were way too big and made me look daft.
The bayonet arms are superb, especially if you wear a helmet

Serengeti for me - "drivers" lens if you want them primarily for use when, er, driving or 555nm lens for everyday use.

Oakleys are the way forward. My girlfriend chose them for her birthday after trying them against my raybans. I`ve got 3 pairs that I use at the moment depending what i`m doing. pity they still don`t do Mumbo splatters they were the dogs nuts.

Gotta agree with this as these are what Ive got (gold/red iridium) had ray Bans galore and flogged em on but these will be with me forever and are the biz in blistering sun or lazy haze. Bought em of ebay.com as opposed to co.uk coz accessed a USA seller and asked him to post em with GIFT on to bypass import tax. He even sent spare lenses and nose/ear sox

Watch out for polarised lenses. I have a pair of polarised oakleys and they seem to react badly with the screen in my MY03 (girlfriends F**d seems fine). Anyone else had these sort of problems?

ScoobyG makes a good point there. I've got Oakley sunglasses with prescription lenses. Without doubt, the best I've ever had. They are great if you are outside, but I have found the very strong polarising effect can be a little OTT for the car. I've also noticed that it makes the screen of my TTGo practically unreadable.
They also appear to be very well made. I also have Oakley glasses for everyday use and they are the best in terms of build quality that I've ever had. Not cheap though when you factor in using the geniune Oakley lenses - I've spent the better part of £700 on my 2 pairs.
My sunglasses are A wire with blue lenses.

I've got Oakley - need to repair them (I was asking a couple of weeks ago about repairing scratched lenses, then the next weekend I snapped the arm off!) but love them.
I also have RE Aviators circa 1993, nice, but they never really gripped my head, and kept falling off. The Oakleys have sprung bayonet arms so I don't have that problem. The REs are also not polarised, which I really need as I'm sensitive to glare.
It's true that polarised can make a car windscreen, or a LCD, look very odd, though mine are fine for driving in.

BTW anyone know about Maui? Friend has them, explained that they are tinted heavily at the top for the sky (and I think at the bottom for snow/sea??) but not as heavily in the middle, so they are ideal to use. I found some doc surveying various lenses, they seemed to do quite well. Pricey as Oakleys though

yep ... all the way ... had many adventures in mine ... brightest place I've ever been was the salt flats in Bolivia and the people I was travelling with were blown away by how much better my glasses handled the light
