Any legal eagles out there ?
Ive got a question about baliffs for any legal peeps out there
I recently had a dispute with a local company over payment of service (not a very good service may I add). Since then Ive received a CCJ notification. When I called the court they told me a baliff has been requested from the high court.
Will the baliff just come round like that or will the case go to court first. Also will I get notification a baliff is coming round or will they just turn up. Bit confused as what to what will happen. How will the baliff decide what is mine and what is my family/partner's etc. Or will they pick anything up.
Any help is much appreciated.

So if they turn up and I say 'its not mine' they cant touch it ?

I can't confirm the 7 day thing, but they do have to ascertain that any property they take is yours.
See here and here for more info. A UK google on "bailiff rights" will show many more sources of info.
You do realise that a CCJ against you has screwed your credit rating for the next 6 years. Always worth avoiding IMO, even if you lose face or a bit of cash.
