Boat anglers!
Might as well start another angling thread!
Looking to get some boat angling kit to have a play off my RIB, but I'm a bit confused. Can anyone recommend a good beginner's setup for me? I had a look on www.veals.co.uk - and I've figured out that I want a downtide rig, and a multiplier reel, whatever that is
I rigged up a Lowrance fishfinder / chart plotter this weekend, so I'm keen to test it you see

Get a couple of rods so you can have different tackle easily available. Generally the most productive way is to drift with the tide dragging the bait along the bottom as long as there are not too many snags to hook up.
Multiplier reels are the most convenient ones and you dont need to spend a load on cash on them. Ask the tackle dealer to give you advice anyway-he should be able to set you off in the right direction. Take plenty of hooks with you!
