P*ssing me off already. I ended up paying £80 for a Westminster ticket.
I got a ticket because my ticket ran out by 1 minute eventhough I had signalled to the guy I was coming back to the car to top it up. The little git had taken the details prior to the ticket running out and then came back to slap it on straight away. I was more than polite to the guy explaining everything and he smiled and said he couldn't cancel it without speaking to a supervisor. His supervisor was just near by and refused. Mudda Fuddas!
Another time I got a clamp because the meter ran till 8:30 pm!!! I looked at it and thought the 8 was a 6. I'd never heard of parking meters up till 8:30 until that day. And that road wasn't even busy so what was the point of such stupid parking times?

It hasn't been going unnoticed, it is just that when people posted on here discussing it they were branded as "paranoid."
Keep an eye out for several other things that are going on "unnoticed" as they are much, much more scary.

Still cannot believe the bike thing. I mean, if it really was abandoned, you can understand someone "claiming" it rather than it being scrapped. But once it was clear that the bloke had come back for it....I mean FFS, its time to hand it back.
I have heard that traffic wardens are going to be getting a police escort. Sounds good to me. Police are less likely to be corrupt, and the fact that there are two of them walking around should make this sort of thing harder - I hope.
Personally I think its time to go back to the old traffic warden system. Much better, not just ticket oritentated.

The MD of the parking co said it was 'isolated incidents' or words to that effect, now i wonder.....
Brilliant prograsmme, made my blood boil.
One thing it did hightlight for me was

What I found odd was that the whistleblower guy could spend 8 hours walking around and only find 4 cars illegally parked or whatever in all that time????
I used to use a multi-story carpark in Sutton and buy a monthly season ticket. Heard a whisper that you could do a "deal". Sure enough you paid cash to one of the attendants and he gave you a "special" ticket that didn't cancel for a small bit of palm greasing......... DL

I think it was cos he was more interested in findong out what was going on there, rather than sticking tickets on cars.
Oh, and he also wanted them to fire him for not issuing enough tickets, even though there are not meant to be any offical targets.

Westminster PS's & Police, Long but Relevant IMHO

When he came out he found a Westminster Parking Attendant issuing a ticket and naturally asked him what he though he was doing. The Attendant continued to issue the ticket despite this. My father (who incidentally is 88 years old) refused to allow the Attendant to leave the scene. My mother and younger brother were also there and my brother called the police, who credit to them attended very quickly.
Now this is where it gets intersting!
My family explained the situation to the police officers who then asked the attendant to explain it from his point of view. The attendant claimed that my father had moved the car since he had issued the ticket.......
Fortunately my brother had taken a video of the attendant issuing the ticket on his mobile phone and showed it to the police officer (this clearly showed the car was exactly where it still stood when the ticket was issued), the officer as you can imagine was less than impressed with the parking attendants behaviour and instructed the attendant to remove and cancel the ticket. The attendant refused. Eventually the attendant's supervisor turned up, who was also initially unwilling to cancel the ticket, however due to the persistance of the police officers who said no one was leaving until the ticket was cancelled the supervisor agreed to cancel the ticket.
End of story you may think?
Fast forward a few weeks and my dad receives a notice saying this parking fine was unpaid and had now gone up to £150!!!
He phoned them up and reminded them of the circumstances to which Westminster Parking replied the police had no jurisdiction over the issuing of tickets and they intended to persue it.
Having heard this I called them up and asked to speak to someone senior and when I eventually got through to someone with some vaguely important sounding title I explained the situation again and asked if they seriously intended to persue this when we could produce a police witness that their parking attendant had firstly issued an incorrect ticket and secondly lied about it to the police. They replied again that they intended to persue it.
So the Appeal Forms were duly filled in and sent off and we were given a date for the appeal hearing.
Beginning of this week we get a letter from Westminster Council and the Appeals service saying that Westminster had decided not to contest our appeal.
However the letter from Westminster confirming this said this neither meant they accepted the grounds of appeal nor did they offer any apology for this debacle.
I hope those reading this will not think it too petty of my father that he intends to persue Westminster Council for a written apology.
I think this saga also shows that having police in tow may not be as beneficial as it may first seem.

They put a ticket on my van for parking on double yellows.....Which was completely incorrect as I was parked completely on the pavement "causing and obstructrion" different offence, different type of ticket - which wardens in certain towns and cities can't issue including the one I was in.
Ahh well, another company expense indirectly billed to the customer.

For double yellow line, and parking on pavements you need a traffic warden, or in this day and age a "community Support Officer" or a police officer.

I have a disabled badge for my wife.
Last year I received a parking ticket in Skegness. The car was parked in a disabled bay with disabled badge on display. Also displayed was a valid pay and display ticket.
This would have been OK for the sea front car parks but in the town centre car parks disabled badge holder do not have to pay. The had issued me a ticket for not displaying the disabled hour clock even though I had a two hour pay and display ticket on the windscreen.
So I could have parked for free but because I paid I got a ticket
I appealed and won.

you know, I could have been a Traffic Warden, but they found out my parents were married
The majoirty are total jobsworths, high on the power that they are given, a bit like floor managers in supermarkets. Think they are something special, when, in fact, they are loathed my most people.

actually i say that but i did meet a nice one in southampton.
Road was residents down each side, with double yellows outside my house so people could get past each other
i couldnt get a parking permit due to ****ty council, but i parked my car in the 2hr section during the day moving it around, at night id park it outside my house and move it @ 8.00 next morning.
After about 3 tickets (damn lazy student) i ran outside one morning to find a traffic warden looking over my car...
"im moving it im moving it" i shouted
"dont bother mate," came the reply " i cant give you a ticket anyway"
"why?"
"the sign says a double yellow, the road shows 1 yellow for starters"
"cool"
"and that yellow line has nop start and finish 'cap', plus its broken due to wear and tear in 2 places, park here as long as you like"
I got 25 parking tickets in 2 months, had the police look at my car thinking its stolen. Everything
Got of every single one thanks to a very nice traffic warden

My dad has a disabled badge and he got a ticket and the parking control office sent a letter stating that no badge was showing. With the letter they sent a photo showing clearly the clock and badge in the window of the car. They are still refusing to cancel the ticket despite providing evidence to support his claim that he had a valid disabled badge displayed correctly in his car.
