They use the out dated nomenclature for some reason, but by "notatus" they mean Pygocentrus caribe..... one of these:

That fish was in a tank, in an aquatic centre, and was therefore incapable of damaging indigenous wildlife, not that it would have been able to survive in our climate anyway... surely you are able to make the distinction?
Its actually an old story, but amazingly it had escaped my attention until it started doing the circuit of the fishkeeping boards yesterday!
