Anyone been to Monaco?
Afternoon!
I am planning a 3 night trip to Monaco for some sightseeing in September this year. I am going to book the hotel directly and book the flights from the BA website.
The only thing that I'm unsure of is how I go about sorting out transfers from Nice airport (NCE) to the centre of Monaco. I believe that there is a regular bus service and train services too (I can't afford to get the Helicopter transfers!) but was hoping someone here might have some experience of them: I was hoping not to just be turfed out into the arrivals lounge at the airport and have NO idea where I'm going!
Anyone been there and done that? Anyone know where the bus terminal at NCE and Moncao are?
Cheers everyone!

The trains going along the coast from cannes antibes nice and monaco etc, are really reliable and regular.
Doesnt take too long- and they are cheap too!
As for getting to Nice itself from the airport- i cant help as I was on the TGV from paris which took me straight into Nice itself
Splash out and get the chopper- you know you want to
Oh....and be prepared for the price of a pint in monaco.....cheap it is not.......

Another recommendation for Stars & Bars here Last time I bought a pint of lager in Casino Square it cost six quid and that was two years ago
Why don't you hire a car? All the big car hire firms are represented at the airport. You can pick the car up at the airport and drive straight into Monaco along the A8 motorway or the coastal road from Nice and straight onto the GP circuit There are lots and lots of really clean and bright underground car parks in Monaco and they're quite cheap.
Having said that it's fairly easy to walk around Monaco as there are lifts and escaltors all over the place. This map has them marked. Taken from Visit Monaco
I love the place, it's quite mad

I went to watch Monaco in the french cup semi-final.Cost 7 quid for good seats.Spaghetti at a decent cafe, not one of the cheap tourist ones was 8 quid.Coffee at the beach 2.50.
Having said that you can walk everywhere so no taxi fares and looking doesnt cost.

Thanks for the replies so far everyone!
Helicopter is out I'm afraid as I really don't want to splash cash on that that I can save for the Casinos etc. I'd like to get the train if the station was actually at the Airport, but I have no idea if it is (and the SNCF website seems vague) or if I'd need to get a taxi to the station at either end.
I don't want to hire a car - firstly because I'm under 25 and I'll get stung for it and secondly because I'm going there partly because the Yacht show is on so the place is going to be a mad-house and I really wouldn't get use of the car to justify the cost. I don't plan on being in a state to drive over the 4 days.
I know that it isn't going to be cheap but my main holiday last year was a week in Iceland so no-one can tell me ANYTHING about expensive beer It still brings a tear to my eye when I go to Weatherspoons and don't get charged the equivalent of 600 ISK (around £6) for a pint!
Oh well!
Thanks again for the replies guys - keep them coming! Any advice on other places to visit there are welcome!

Yep, went to Monaco last year. Do the helicopter if you can afford it, otherwise the train would be best option. As has already been said, its easy to walk around Monaco. We were there 2 weeks before the grand prix, and as they were preparing the circuit we walked around it, stopping for beers in Casino square (expensive), and then later having food and beers in starsnbars (more reasonable).

Enjoy, its a fabulous place
