Speeding Summons Advice Please....
A speeding summons dropped through the letter box yesterday for my 18 year old son - 99.59 mph on a 70 mph dual carriageway. He got pulled by a patrol car along with his mate who was in a separate car.
He is not denying he and his mate were speeding, but on the summons paperwork, the cops have screwed up and put down his mates name in the section where "driver identified himself as" - clearly a mistake. His mates summons is correct.
Could this be grounds for a challenge or is he best just to admit the charge and do the porridge?? Any comments welcomed..........

This could be a fatal error. If you intend fighting the summons, dont alert the police, cps or court about this error. The cps will need to start the proceedings in court, and when they read out the summons, this is when you object. It may be advisable to be represented by a specialist traffic solicitor/laywer. Pepipoo list a couple.
