Angry NTL have moved their support call centre to..

Asia (guessing India).

What joy.

Me, "My Cable Modem is dropping its connection intermittently."
Support, "Is it off now?"
Me "Yes"
Support, "ok I will test it".
Me "it is back on" (before test completed)
Support, "can you call us back when it is off so we can run the test?"
Me "No, by the time I get through, it will be back on"
Support, "I understand, but we need to test when it is off, can you call us back?"
Me "No, its back off NOW".
Support "ok running the test".
Me "it is back on" (before test completed)
Support, "can you call us back when it is off so we can run the test?"

FFS

Anyone got a UK number for support?

Can't be any worse than NTL's UK support. I called them three times before and either they are very badly trained or just thick as two short planks. Absolutely useless.

Gives me another excuse to ditch them. I hate companies who move call centres abroad

Anyone know if you can get a Freeview box with twin tuners, HDD and Top-up capability yet Ideally HDMI and digital audio out would be the icing

Quaility!

Eventually after the 4th call and approx. in total, 1hr and 40mins of my time on the phone, I have an engineer booked! Now, whats the chances of them actually turning up?!

The 4th call was just so funny:
Me, "blah, blah blah, intermittent fault, 4th call now, etc, etc."
Support, "Turn your cable modem off"
Me, "ok, its off"
Support, "plug it back in"
Me, "powered up, cable light now on, solid"
Support, "can you browse ntlworld.com?"
Me, ".......loading, yes"
Support, "ok, try bbc.co.uk"
Me, "Cable light is now OFF. bbc.co.uk not loading."
Silence
Me, "Cable light is now ON. bbc.co.uk has now loaded."
Support, "your cable modem seems to be working fine now."
Me (exploding with rage), "NO. I have just followed your instructions, rebooting the modem. I have told you the cable light went off. This is an INMTERMITTENT PROBLEM".
Placed on hold
Support, "I have just spoken to 2nd level tech support"
Me, "while I was on hold, the cable light is now OFF".
Support, "Yes, I can see that"

If it is not in the "script" of call handling, you are FOOKED.

Time for ADSL me thinks....

Do not know. But I have tried two different numbers, both routed to India.
It is recent, as I phoned tech support couple of months ago.
