reversed into back of someone who drove into me - insurance??
Whilst parking, I looked back and reversed, saw no one there and then all of a sudden bang – someone drove into back of me. Now they are claiming they were stationary and I reversed into them. Only witnesses were passengers in both cars.
What happens insurance-wise?
Do I have the upper hand?
How should I play it? Worse thing is that there was no damage but they have put a claim in!

If the damage is to the front of their car then it will be classed as their fault unless there are other witnesses - i was hit by someone reversing whilst i was stationary but it went against me.

For me it happened in a car park and I tried to get CCTV, but it was out of the camera's range. This is so annoying though as I wouldn't have even bothered to claim due to it being so minor, but the other party is trying to screw me...

To Explain
I was unable to reverse as it would have meant me pulling backwards onto a main road from a blind junction.
The old boy admitted what he had done, we exchanged details.
Later i called him to get his ins numbers and he said i had hit him.
I was stationary with my hand planted on the horn as i could see what was happening but could not get out of the way!!!
I did not have a leg to stand on, no cctv, this was 1990 so hardly any cameras about.
No witnesses.
Just a lying bast@rd!

Have no mercy!
I've been through this and so have a couple of friends. Insurance companies will drag this out for at least htree years, the other driver is no doubt going for compo if there was no damage. Stand your ground, you have nothing to lose, be adamant it was his fault and reject any offers to go 50/50.
