Gumball 3000 "6 Days in May" DVD
Got hold of this yesterday having bought the first Gumball 3000 DVD ages ago. If you liked the first DVD then all I can say is: Don't bother with this new one!
Truly disappointing! NO proper camera crew - just a load of amalgamated dodgy, jerky camcorder footage taken by people as they drove. NO proper editing crew or sound crew. NO narration or presenters (IE no-one like Burt Reynolds or the Cuban Brothers in the 2003 DVD). Rubbish soundtrack (Unlike 2003's excellent Ninjatune/Zen selection). No sense of it being a "route" - more like snippets of random footage that could have been anywhere.
Some very nice cars but you only saw the insides of them as there were no camera crews in helecopters or roadside etc.
Some decent graphics and animations but very little else. Remember how the 2003 DVD had a slick, "Top Gear" style with all the colours and filters etc? Loads of nice scenery and sunset shots etc? Well forget it. "6DiM" is clearly a cash-in of the "We sold loads of last year's DVD so we'll probably sell loads of this one. Therefore we can make it as cheaply and as poor as we like because people will still buy it" kind. Oh dear.
My copy is going up on eBay I'm afraid!

Ive heard a lot of this about 6DiM. Apparently shows the Reyland Escort Cosworth on a day when it had already crashed out.
On a upside. There were rumours that this may not be the only DVD of the event. And that a different director was doing the other version.
Time will tell
