Anyone been there in Zante???? Just booked a cheeky week away on the pretence its quietish and the ale is cheap!!!!!????

Hi Jen...Beginning of September..its the only times we can sneak a week off together...weather seems to hold up till mid October according to what i have read..
Never been to any of the greek islands before,it was all Ibiza and Spain when i was a lad..Ha ha..

Yup, been there. Great stuff. We stayed in Tsilivi for a week, and really enjoyed it. Good beach, good food, good beer etc.
If you've never been before, take a cruise around the island to the shipwreck bay, as there's some stunning views around Zakynthos (Zante)

Went to Zante 9 years ago and going again in three weeks , staying in Kalamaki both times , A better way of seeing the shipwreck is to hire a jeep and find the point on the cliffs above it , as for going on a cruise round the island I would check with people coming of the boat first , the sea can get very choppy on the shipwreck side and everyone including the crew were sick on the trip we went on

Hiya fella,
Been to Zante four times now.....so as you can tell i rate it!! Been to Argassi, Kalamaki, Tsilivi and Laganas. All fantastic resorts with wonderful friendly locals, although i do believe that since my last visit 4 years ago Laganas has become very commercialised and is a bit like Blackpool with sun now.
The other resorts are still meant to be wonderful though and the shipwreck tour and Loggerhead turtle spotting tours are great.
When you go there is a fantastic Italian restaurant called Spaghettimania( cheesy name i know) that sells the best pasta dishes i have ever tried. If pasta is your thing its well worth a try.
Hope you enjoy. Wish i was going again now.
