Though if they're calling from outside the UK they don't have to abide by the rules or TPS lists at all.

yeah- tps works a charm... we moved and had to get a new number - the calls started almost immediately
Got in touch with tps - soon petered out and if they DO phone... I start getting details sharpish and for some reason they hang up really quick!

TPS is perfect...but so is not giving out the number.
We have been in our house for 3 years, x directory and hardly ever use the phone as we use the home office phone line for most stuff......NEVER get cold calls cause the number isnt "out" there.

if your with b.t they do a caller display as long as you got a compatible handset it costs nothing and they sign you up to tps at the same time
it takes about 28days once registered and it's worked for me used to get them every night about 5 or 6 from 8pm onwards get the odd 1 now but you can see the number of the person calling so just let them ring off

lol I had one ring me a few months ago saying I could have a free mobile phone that I only have to pay £15 a month for... I was ont he phone for about half an hour talking to him telling him its not exactly free and I dont need it as I have a mobile but he insisted I could give it too a family friend or I can have 2 mobiles, got a whole life story off him about where he lives, how many mobiles he owns and even got to how many kids he has... in the end I got bored and just hung up

If you're registered with the TPS (like wot we is), and someone calls you, can you report them somewhere? We still get the odd call, even though we screen most with anonymous all rejection.

the tps does work really well but with telesales centres they buy the data from credit reference companies like experian or equifax, so every time you fill in a credit card application form or somethin along those lines they'll have your details again. you need to make sure you read the small print on the forms and tick the relevant boxes that way they cant get theire hands on your info!

We are registered with the TPS, we dont get many calls, only where our caller display (useful) says International.
Most annoying is the number of door callers asking us to switch gas or electricity supply. Really pixxes me off.
