Default URGENT best headphones for ipod!!

Hi guys.
Going on holiday on Thursday and need some better headphones for my recently purchased ipod. The std ones seem ok most of the time but then sometimes c'ant handle the bass well. Would prefer the little in ear ones as opposed to the big DJ type, just because the former are more portable.

Cheers
Deep.

I've got some Senheiser noise reduction phones. Blew away the Sony ones (which I had before), and have the advantage of cutting down the traffic noise etc as well

£67 is pretty cheap for noise-cancelling closed headphones. How do they compare to "ordinary" £60 Sennheisers?

Get yourself down to a hi-fi shop and buy the ones that sound best to you. Everyone's ears are different.

If by normal high street, you mean the likes of Dixons then it's unlikely.

If you do not have a local independent hi fi shop in your town, then a trip to Richer Sounds is probably in order.

I use these

http://www.shure.com/earphones/eseries_e3c.asp

and the only comparison would be to £200+ over ear types. The sound is just amazing. They fit in the ear canal, similar to ear plugs, and they effectively block out all external sound. I wear them to work on the tube and you can't hear anything apart from the music. Also they use passive noise reduction (by physically blocking sound) so are a lot better than the active noise reduction types because they tend to block out frequencies that music uses so they affect the sound quality.

Downside is they are expensive (£130 at Apple store, but ebay can be cheaper) and some people may not like having something in their ear.

Normal in ear phones are rubbish and by design can't really produce a good sound.

If you can't stretch to the Shure E3C's then consider their E2C models which are around £65. I got mine from http://www.everythingipod.co.uk via Amazon.

They sound lovely, just a bit weird getting used to shoving them in your ears.

I swapped mine for a set of Wharfedale. Vast improvement, and now my ears don't scream "mug me"

The Sony Fontopia are fantastic. Great sound, comfortable in the ear and they take up very little space.

I have the Sony's and one or two other serious headphones. The best value by far that I have ever heard is one of these.....You can't go wrong

What mains charger? Was I meant to get one with the ipod or do I buy it as an accessory?
