Thanks ajm, yes I did watch it, not 100% accurate but still very interesting.
Saw at least a couple of old friends too. Going to meet a few more this week when I go to a meet and try to persuade the big boss to let me fly his rebuilt Vulcan when it is finished. Wish me luck

It was interesting what they were saying about where they would go after dropping the bomb, particularly if there was nothing left to go home to!

Haha, I'll have to get the job first, he has got some other pilots already so I will have to keep my fingers crossed that they will put me in the aircrew pool. He is a hell of a nice bloke and we got on well as well as with his engineering director. Fascinating stories of how they have found spares all over the country. I hope they write a book about it.
No passenger seat Not Rev, but you can stand on the ladder between the pilots for a good view. You could hand the sandwiches round in between wingovers
We all had a guided tour around the RAF AWACS Sentry aircraft at RAF Waddington. It may be a modified 707 but it is brand new and the equipment is astounding. The Cockpit was a bit like the VC10, old but good.
All we could do Stueyb was to keep going flat out at a height to avoid the confluence of the air and ground reflected shock waves and hope! I always thought we would not escape it and as he implied on the programme, there was little fuel left either. Most of the diversion airfields would probably have been zapped anyway.
We had to expect it to be a one way trip, but if it had come to that, there would be no home to come back to anyway.
PSL should know the effect of the weapon we used pretty well anyway.
The worst bit of the day yesterday was the 9 hour drive back from Lincoln to Devon because of an accident which closed the M5.
