So I'm off to said Danish capital over the late May Bank holiday weekend for a lads pi$$-up basically, but would like to know if there are any sights I shouldn't miss during the day!!

Also, if anyone knows any decent sights to *see* in the evening then that would be good too!!

All the women are gorgeous, tivoli gardens is worth a visit but isn't amazing. The mermaid is ok but is a bit out the way and is a pretty crappy statue at the end of the day. Just get drunk and chat the women up, much more fun!!

When I said the women are gorgeous I REALLY meant it, not only are they blue eyed blondes they are really nice to talk to. Denmark wouldn't even know what a chav/slag was, they don't exist there.

How expensive is the beer and food?

For some reason I have a feeling that it's gonna be pricey!!

 

It is pricey, same as London I'd say though, so nothing shocking (..then on the other hand I'm often shocked at London prices!!!)

I'll second that! Used to go there quite a bit but city bar prices are expensive - especially if you are having a few. May be some starters from an off licence before you hit the clubs. Super City - you look around for grafitti as you do and there isn't any (well there easn't went I used to go) DL

A beer in copenhagen will cost £5 unless you go to some ****ehole and drink the danish version of skol.
Fit women everywhere....don`t go out to early as we did and peaked about midnight in a empty club having a dance off...It rarely gets going til well after midnight...
Get used to bikes.......They are everywhere...some are for anyone to use..stick in a couple of krona and it is yours..We thought it was funny 12 of us bmx bandit style through the streets of copenhagen...Dont think the locals were that impressed with out road manners though....

How late do the bars/clubs stay open??

Don't wanna "peak early" as you put it!!

 

The clubs were open til at least 5am as that what time we staggered out...So was maccy d`s and burger king ideal for a quick fill up before bed...
I am sure the danes get drunk but despite it being pretty busy outside at 5am not many were in the condition we were in....
We have a swedish bloke in our footy team and he was tour leader and he informed us the scans like to have parties at home before they go out cause the booze costs to much in bars and clubs....Some clubs are a bit funny about letting in groups of english blokes in so best behaviour needed..Club Cairo was like heaven on earth...we must have been the only blokes in there.You have never seen that many fit women in one place

 

I used to live in denmark, kolding in suderland to be precise.

kobenhavn (copenhagen) is very good! id suggest heading towards christania (sp) its basically a city within the citys walls its renound for being a lawless area, ie: they make the rules, prostitution drugs etc etc all go! however its not a pleasent place! and you will not be welcomed with open arms so if you go, be sensible! (i am not joking here)

head for the train station if thats too much for you, theres lots of bars there, again theres a few right dodgy places so be very wary! and always ask, the epoeple are generally fantastic and you will find most speak very good english (better than a lot of english people actually!)

as for the pubs and clubs take your time its not england, they start at about 2 am, as the bars are open 72 hours straight!!

Apparantly christiana has been cleaned up and is not the place it used to be...Around by the station was a bit seedy,plenty of dodgy bars and ladies of the night...

 

They've been trying to shut Christiania for the last year or so, so be careful. They're cracking down on drug use too - at least, that's the official line, I can't tell you what it's like on the street.

The women (people generally) can be a bit stand-offish. And my Danish colleague says the national sport is point-scoring, coming out with a retort and trying to make you feel slightly stupid.

drink is very expensive at £5-6 per pint

we had a meal on a boat and then a massife binge and the bill came to 2K !!!


for 10 of us and all the pubs taxis, take credit cards although im not sure about the ladies of the night !!!
