I am looking to get a personal lease on a car. The company is called Portcanna Leasing and are based in Portcanna near Cardiff. Searched Google and nothing came up for them, but i found them through the website for Smartlease.

Anyway, in order to get the ball rolling, i have been asked to fill in a few sections of the underwriting proposal form (personal details and pay details) to get a head start when i decide to go for it. The guy says that its to make sure that we get ahead on the underwriting process as the cars are fast running out.

If i decide not to, i am told there is no obligation on my part to continue.

Does this sound OK ??

I would get what ever he says backed up in wrtiting. I've never taken out a personal lease, but I guess it's a contract much like any other. You just need to make sure you're covered...

The "cars are fast running out" sounds a bit like sales talk to me. What the big rush with everyone suddenly wanting to lease a car?
