Same old same old for me I'm afraid, Oasis just haven't released anything substanstial since Whats the story, this is an average song with some serious overtones from the Rolling Stones Street Fighting Man, although I will buy the album in the vain hope they have found some form and I already have my ticket for the MK Bowl

Does anyone notice Oasis anymore? First 2 albums were pretty good but the others have just been average.
Got a copy of "All Around The World" if anyone wants to buy it - or it's going on ebay tomorrow...
The new single isn't a cover of Clapton's track is it?

I agree that their best stuff is mainly B sides - I tend to prefer the songs Noel sings.
IMO Lyla sounds like they are repeating a chorus over and over again, never really getting anywhere.

I am a little disappointed with it tbh, especially after they so nearly offered a return to form with Heathen Chemistry. Lyla doesn't bode too well for the rest of Don't Believe The Truth if this is the best opening song they have to offer from it. I still think it's a catchy song though and when you get your head around the off-key Lyla it starts to open up, quite summery.
Messiah, that'd be Layla then (i hope you were kidding).
I love it when all the experts slate them. The thing is, Oasis aren't a new thing anymore and yes, their 'time' has been and gone. They will never write another Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory or Be Here Now . The fact remains however that they are still around making records and still one of the few bands that most define Rock 'N' Roll. What's left of the British music scene would be a much sorrier place without them.
