I hope so.
Call me cynical if you like, but Ill bet the majority of funds from bands sold on ebay never gets near the charities.
Kids, (my neice included) see these bands as a fashion statement now because celebrities wear them, so kids want the bands so they have the band, not because they support the causes behind it.
Some Ebay leeches are cashing in on this by selling coloured wristbands to people who believe their money is going to the good causes.

they are rubber bands, coloured depending on which charity your supporting
black and white one for racism, yellow for livestrong, blue for bullying etc... etc...
think they've kinda lost their meaning as most people seem to go for the colours that match what they are wearing rather than the charity they think is important.
either way, still money for good causes though.

The blue one makes me laugh, apparently it's for anti-bullying. According to my stepson, if you get seen wearing one at school you are likely to get beaten.
