Suggest somewhere in Italy for me & the family to go!
Hi there - looking to book up somewhere in June for a week, really fancy Italy (been there a few times, but never to the coastal areas, which is where we'd like to go this time)...
Got two 4 year olds, so want somewhere family friendly. Don't want anything too "package holiday" like - okay, bit of a snobby thing to say, but we like nice B&B's / small hotels, small relatively quite beaches, with some nice villages/towns nearby with good restaurants.
So!!! Can anyone make some suggestions please? I haven't got a clue where to start, and as we don't get away very often, I don't want to book a lemon!
Cheers

How about....
Monza
Imola (dont forget to stop in Modena on the way through)
Misano
Did all 3 in 2003 and had an ace time. Not sure if the children will appreciate it though !!!! Also dont forget to bring home a few litres of Olive Oil and a load of Parmesan !!

If you do happen to go to Sorrento then you should pop over to the Island of Capri, bit expensive (or was when I was there) but rather nice.
Also, it's seriously worth going to Pompeii, and if you can, climb up mount Vesuvius. I've been to a few odd places, but Pompeii tops the lot of them, very eerie indeed.

Me and the missus have just booked up to go to Sorrento later this year, can't wait. May have to hire a car and try out the Amalfi drive, I'm pretty handy at it on GT4...

Just landed this morning from a week and a bit in between Rome and Naples - a place called Formia on the coast near Cassino.
Having travelled around a bit there I'd give another vote for South of Naples - Salerno, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast - though Rome is great to visit as well.

I'm sure the same can be said for many UK cities as well.
