Jim Callahan dead!
Great Statesman ..... you kiddies will not remember him
Shame, on the eve of his Birthday and 11 days after the death of his wife!
RIP
Pete
Conservative peer Lord Heseltine said that despite their political differences, he and Lord Callaghan became friends.
"You don't get to the premiership unless you have a streak of determination," he said.
"But I saw the other side of Jim Callaghan, he became a personal friend in a way, and my family and I were very fond of him."
Well Said Sir!

When I graduated he was at the award ceremony & gave me my degree.
I always respected him as a politician & a gentlemmen. I don't think any politician these days would get that respect.

I actually care about the news of his death and am not in any way ashamed to say so.
He was one of those rare honest and decent politicians who did the job for altruistic reasons unlike the present examples we have to put up with.

wholly responsible for the goddawful winter of discontent; a union movement totally out of control; and appointed a chancellor, denis healey, who presided over the near bankruptcy of the UK i think you'll find.
yes, a truly great statesman and skilled, economically-literate prime minister.
another nuthatch postcard in crayon from PSL.
