Any reason for posting a copy of a SPAM e-mail? If it was a new concept I might understand it, but this has been floating about for donkey's years.

father pierre

advance fee fraud. if you've got the email address it came from, let the ISP know & they'll close it down. if you've got a physical address, also copy to the fraud squad at the met as they want stuff like this.

i had one from some muppet in switzerland with personal email address and office address last month. hotmail closed the email account the following day.

Gee it doesn't take much to do a google or look on snopes to find out if the mail you have had is a scam / spam if you really can't figure it out for yourself.

What benefit is there in posting it here? Do you want to discuss with others some particularly cunning aspect of it that had you fooled? Or are you just looking to compare SPAM e-mail?

As opposed to somebody who keeps dragging out the same tired old crap that everybody has already heard 20 times before?

He's right though.

Everyone gets spam, and a lot of people will get the same one. Spam is bad, even me talking about spam is spam (my apologies).

Posting spam to a BBS, which has already been sent to X hundred thousand/million people just propogates the spam, giving the spammer more airtime. More airtime is not what they deserve. It also fills SN's database with spam, wastes time, web browser space, photons etc.

Loads of other people got your spam mail, and loads of people have other spam which you don't have. Let's stop reposting the spam!

Err it's SPAM, pretty good chance other people will have had it. Do a google / snopes / symantec etc etc. If they have it logged, lots of people have had it. Why help to propogate it?

(And he's off my party invite list too btw.... not that he'd be able to respond to the invite without correcting my grammar and spelling....)

I think some people need to maybe get out a bit more and discover a hobby or 2.

I can't be arsed to go to google or snopes to look at what I received BECAUSE I ALREADY KNEW IT WAS SPAM!

Did you check them out on google?

Apparently they used to send out spam - but on scrolls. They were the forerunners in internet spam.
