Mines gone up about 3%. Mind you there are plans afoot to bring in planet destroying re-cycling initiatives which they will no doubt fund through further CT increases.

3.3% in North Swindon, not bad really.

Surely no coincidence that we got a Conservative controlled council last year, before that we were getting increases of over 13% ish for the last 2 or 3 years under NL.

Be thankful - in an effort to be more efficient Charnwood have moved to collecting the bins fortnightly - that'll be nice in the summer

Mine's up 5%. That's at least double the rate of inflation isn't it? So, now paying MORE for the SAME services. That's the labour way I guess. To a certain extent I wouldn't mind paying more if it meant more services and better quality but unfortunately it doesn't work like that.

Here is a pie chart showing where the money comes from, and where it go's.

http://www.bathnes.gov.uk/finance/Bu...tfacts2002.htm

As you see,its about more than emptying bins.

40% go's on education and 20% social services.

Mine went down at the start of this year, infact it went down that much, I only had to pay £12 a month this year

How?

Got my house moved from band D to band C, and then back dated from the time I moved in.

It's worth finding out what other bands houses in your street are on, don't assume that the exact same house down the road is in the same as yours.

Obviouslly if they are all higher, you keep quiet !!!!
