Default Ebay fast becoming a pain in the ****

just had my D500 bought by a scammer AGAIN.

ebay need to sort something out, the whole relisting, reporting process is a joke.

there should be a way of allowing sellers to pay extra but they can then exclude 0 feedback buyers.

Who exactly is the scammer though? Is it an individual or an organisation with the ability to have many id's on ebay... You have to ask yourself when it is a high value item who is going to benefit the most from winning auctions without any intention of buying the item. How many people listing, just pay up and don't try to relist or obtain a refund for final value fees etc. I'm sure it's quite a high percentage.

You just have to watch the auctions as they end and have a seperate page open ready to wipe their bid.

It's the only way around it at present unless you have an invitation only auction.

Not very familiar with ebay, but can you just bin the winner and offer to the runner up?

as soon as they win, do a second chance straight away.

or just dont bother listing with auctions- just list using 'buy it now'. Thats what i do, and its much less hassle. Especially if you set it up so immediate paypal payment is required.

Late expensive mobile phones models are the No.1 target for scammers. The only thing you can do is place a notice at the top in bold informing bidders that you contact the police immediately in all cases of fraud.

Yep. The Second Chance Offer button is there for exactly this purpose.

winning bidder either gets you to send while tehy fob you off with some "money on the way" bull**** or they do the "heres £3000, bank it and send me change"

either way they are stupid people who should be left to rot in the crappy little shanty towns!

Question

I'm just trying to register with ebay to bid on a bike bit I want, but my registration has taken 20 minutes so far, and still hasn't progressed to the second page (input userid and password)

Is it me or them?

And there lies the scam..

Tiggs on the contrary there not in little shanty towns, they are probably living in a very affluent house sending out loads of these crap emails and scams..

what does it cost them?? a little time and some money,, what can it gain..

an empty bank account...

i would hardly call them stupid, often they are highly intelligent, however they rely on exploiting the greed and gullibility of people.

just become a techno geek and run two phones, one these days is de rigeur, you need two to stay on the ball
