Talking Did I say I won!!??

ERNIE popped a cheque in the post to me this morning

Who else relies on an additional income from the Premium Bonds??

With £30k for me, £30k For the wife and £30k for my daughter we do win regularly ....... but STILL he misses me out when awarding the £1million!

Anyone won BIG?

Pete

PB's are just a way of you lending the govt money to waste - It is cheaper for them to borrow from the punters than to borrow from the banks - You may have won, but in the grand scheme of things, a pound spent of PB's is a pound wasted on the borrow and spend mentality

If everyone with PB's put the money in a sensible investment, the only loser would be the govt.

How does this sound - If you lend me a pound, I will keep it for years and years, I might pay you a few pence occasionally, but after all those years I will give you a pound back. Please try not to remember that when you gave me the pound I could get a tank of SUL, but when I give you it back, you will get about 1/60 of a tank with the same pound..... but hey - you can blame that on the tory fuel tax escalator

Tell you what, lets make it realistic ........

I give you £1 - each month we will cut a pack of cards, if its RED and an ODD number you pay me £50

If its the JOKER you pay me £1million!?

And I can demand my £1 back too!

Sound fair?

Just because we are only allowed to put £30k in each doesn't make me a chav! I would LOVE to pour more in!

Pete - you have already shown that your grasp of percentages would have a six year old falling about laughing. All investment is a matter of playing percentages. Premium bonds are the reserve of those who need to take of their socks and shoes to count to eleven

I hope you win more than £4500 a year otherwise you'd be better off sticking it in a savings account, unless you really think you'll win that £1,000,000

Well, I suppose its actually about £3000 a year - the rest is a gamble on the £1million!

If this is poor then I love it. You know that with 90k and a decent strategy you could double your money every 6 months in the bookies. The odds of being able to do this for long enough to make a million are much much better than the odds of making it on PB's
