Ive been off work all week...
..and i think im getting worse! I was up coughing and spluttering at 4 this morning then i went light headed and my eyes rolled to back of my head and i think i passed out! Woke up about an hour later a bit disorientated, and carried on coughing! Ive just had to get out of bed because my sheets were wet through with sweat! I can hardly move my head as my eyes hurt and it looks like my forehead/brow is swelling over my eyes! To make matters worse ive run out of paracetomol!

I've just been discharged from hospital and been signed off work for 6 weeks.
But overall, its a definite since I went into hospital with a heart attack in progress 40% chance, allegedly, of not surviving it, but I did. Had a balloon angioplasty plus a stent (a bit like a piece of the stainless steel mesh that covers brake pipes) fitted 36 hours later which should sort me out, plus 3 prescription drugs and 75mg aspirin per day for the rest of my life. NHS medical care is actually very good when you need it...thank God
I'd much rather have what you lot have got

I've been off work since last Tuesday - more than any other time I've ever been off in my working life put together!! Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
Signed off until Tuesday, but think I'll be feeling by tomorrow night
Jay
Edited to add - I hadn't read the above post when I replied!

...just found a link, for the mechanically-minded, on the procedure I had - except I had a collagen plug in the entry point rather than the sandbag on the aftercare part 2 page!

I am ill, had a cold and now my ear is infected.
I haven't had any time off work though, even though I was coughing for 2 hours in the night
I have the weekend to recover. I had my tonsils out at Christmas and I'm glad I did otherwise I'd have had a bout by now which is way worse!

I had a horrible flu bug recently...It was a new symptom every day.
I mean proper flu by the way not a cold. I started shivering then knew something was wrong when I felt freezing cold in bed..I had 3 duvets on and was sweating profusely my limbs hurt to the touch, aching bones, wheezing chest, and i had a headache. Someone at work asked me if I'd seen a Dr about it but I'd felt so horrible I couldn't face sitting in a waiting room...seems stupid now but I was too sick to go to the health centre! Coughing all sorts of things up...playing traffic lights in my tissues Red Green Yellow...oops probably too much information there.
Started about 3 weeks ago just starting to get better.
Someone suggested Chicken flu......felt more like an Ostrich!
Get well soon
