I don't think you'll get the same amount of enjoyment as you would have done.

With the Race 'n' Chase or the Vertibird? These are both toys I really coveted when I was little so I dont know whether I'll play with them or just feel better owning them. I got two large Scalextric sets too so theres more chance that'll I play with those; Ive got that much now that I need a bigger transformer!

Hello

I used to have one of those. Was quite cool as you could press the button at the top of the controller and either turn around or block the other car.

oh wow this brings back memories, I had one of these when I was a nipper. I must admit scalextric was better, purely because the cars where bigger, n u could slide them around easily. The ramp is the best thing about R&C though. The reverse turns got boring after a while

Its from the very early 1980's Paul; theyre F1 Stock Cars, and it was a figure eight with a + shaped crossover and a chicane corner; the Mini set was much smaller I think; the cars came with this when I bought it in 1988. Ive got an original 4 lane set from when I was little and Ive just bought a Group C era Le Mans set and a **** load of track on t'eBay too.

Wanna race?

At my house at the moment I have this lot. I bought the Cosworth set on ebay a few months ago and it came with a load of extra track, two minis & an RS200 The set is mint and the sierras even have their mirror in their original bag & have never been fitted.

At my parents house in their loft (not laid down) I have the old grand prix set which had the Lotus F1 car and the Williams and made the old Silverstone circuit and I had Le mans with the Shell Porsche and the silver AMG (???) Mercedes and that used to make up the Le mans track too. In adition to that I have more track and another 20 or so cars there I really must go and get that

At the weekend I bought the straights to connect the new track to the old track so I should be able to make a monster track now

Race and chase, ahhhh the memories used to love that mind you used to only play it every few months and always had to spend the first hour 'scraping' the tracks because the conduction (right term?) was poor, never seemed to be a problem with scalextric.

Good fun still though!

The best bit is the narrow corner chicane which was a feature in the banger Minis too; everyone selling these curves touts it as rare now; I must have two full 360s of it too. Id like a pitstop, 4 lane if possible and a hillclimb/drag loop which makes the track single-user..... Ive got my eye on the truck racing set..........

Im quite getting into this, the only thing Ive collected before has been good quality suits.
