Default Diesel question

Just bought an Isuzu Rodeo pickup. Haven't got it yet, due to 'pickup' on tuesday 1st March.

Are there 'better' diesel fuels, like the difference between tesco unleaded and bp, or bp super and optimax etc etc....

I have to admit I don't know much about diesels, other than it should be cheaper to do mega mileage in the pickup than the MY03 wagon- and it can carry a ton without trashing the interior

Thanks guys,
simon

ps. keeping the MY03 Impreza too, and the STi5 Type R as soon as she's got her new engine

Can I say I notice any difference in MPG or performance between brands (inc. supermarket juice) in my trac'or. Shell Diesel Extra is possibly a tad quieter on cold starts. I'm also collecting Shell Points and my local Shell is usually the cheapest around for derv, so I tend to stick to Shell.

BP Ultimate Derv is not worth the premium IMO.
