Wink Halfords stocks Meguiars

Shock Horror!!! I actually frequented one of these establishments at luchtime today and I was amazed to see a shelf full of Meguiars products. Apparently they have only just started stocking their products. They do the quick clay treatment pack for £11.99 so I promptly purchased. However I feel so ashamed of going in to Halfrauds and having to walk past all the Ripspeed stuff, bangin' toons, rims, wings, and stick on carbon I now need a shower Sorry, I'm not a great fan of Halfords as you can tell, but they have just gone up slightly in my estimations due to them now stocking a quality product for once. And yes I did hear someone say innit whilst I was in there

went in there yeserday as i was passing, to get some new wipers. the bosch dual pack code is 22/22s i think (ie 22" blade and 22" blade with spoiler according to the little book on the shelf). had to go back an hour later to get the right size - the passenger side is a 17". so bought some meguiars whilst i was there.

Excellent news.

I've had £50 worth of vouchers since December and have struggled to find what to spend them on in this store.

£50 of ordinary bulbs goes a long way...

Will check it out tomorrow.

Sounds like prices are ok aswell. Which is a shock.

I normally use www.speeding.co.uk and the clay treatment is £12.99.

Halfords in York used to be a "serious" store until the Ripspeed section opened

It is clear from a few other Forums that not all Halfords stores have received stock of Meguiars yet. Therefore please add to this list the location of the store you know stocks it:

1) Lion Retail Park, Woking, Surrey

just received my 'weekend' meguiars kit from www.driveincar.com (fingers crossed for a dry weekend)

found they were very competitive in the price dept!

8.99 for nxt gen wax is a very good price though.

Good price for the wax that. Without wanting to go down the my product is better than yours route - I would strongly suggest you try the Meguiars NXT range. The results are fantastic and every bit as good as Zymol etc.

Still works a treat, much better than meguirs, autoglym, etc which I've tried and only about £12.00 for a bottle which lasts ages. Obviously it's not in the same league as Swissol but then it is a fraction of the cost, as I said before, all IMHO

Do you know if Guildford has it? If not I could just pop over to Woking.

How much of the range did they have in stock?

Might need to get a few essentials before putting in another Autopia order.

Sorry, not sure about Guildford. From memory they stocked the nxt range, quick clay detail kit, gold class shampoo, 3 stage kit just sold in seperate bottles (paint renovator, polish and carnuba wax), wheel cleaner, tyre dressing, trim detailer, application pads, finnishing cloth, scratch x, gold class clear coat liquid wax. almost the whole range.

I don't think the Zymol sold in Halfords is the 'real deal' though. It's nothing like their high end stuff.

Zymol etc seems vastly overpriced to me. I have bought all my stuff from Autopia. Their site also has a lot of good information on it regarding paint preparation which is by far the most important aspect. They recommend that you wash, clay, polish, then wax with synthetic wax, and then top with carnauba. This is what I have done and the results are amazing.

Before going down the Zymol or Swissol route I would advise you spend some time on that site. It is far more advanced than anything I have seen mentioned on other sites, and goes into incredible detail. The forum is excellent too.

By the way, I used Sonus, Klasse and P21S on my car.

^^^^ what he said I have used Swissol (Saphir wax and Cleaner fluid) and liked the results but find it a tad overpriced compared to the likes of P21S. The law of diminishing returns I guess.

Autopia URL is http://www.autopia.org

I can't remember what the total was - around £125 all in I think for the stuff I got. That included a lot of microfibre towels and pads, AIO and SG, Sonus shampoo and paintwork cleanser, two clay bars etc.. There was a lot of stuff. Got killed on the postage cost that was the only downer, although it was with me very quickly.

A bit like saying "Cars, all pretty much the same to me." It just depends what you're into.
