Has E.T landed????
Just come home tonight from a party and whilst driving towards Oldham i saw the sky light up and i mean f**king light up this seemed to happen evry two minutes or so as if was timed. If definitely was not lighting and it definitely was not fireworks at one point my mate said that it had almost blinded him it was that bright. the only thing i can think of is a new club has opened and is it possible that they have used some sort of laser equipment?
I could'nt believe how bright it was. was anyone in the Oldham area tonight around 1-1.30am and witnessed this.

No it was blue in colour and i did not see a laser it was just a series of blue flashes that was lighting up the sky.

StickyMicky,
You need to look more carefully, white lasers do exist, typically they're Argon/Krypton devices, have a useful set of mainlines and will use a prism for chromatic separation and processing by scanning galvos (such as General Scanning's G120D) for atmospheric / club laser effects. Typical optical output ranges from 1W to 10W for most "normal" shows. Outdoor displays require more power, there often isn't a projection surface and the only means of "displaying" is general "crap" in the atmosphere. These lasers are normally clearly visible when bounced off clouds etc
Cheers,
Pat.
