Breitling fans step forward
Time has come to invest some hard-earned and got my heart set on one. Don't pilot 747 or fix power lines at 3000ft under the sea so its looks/the fact its a piece of engineering excellence that I want one.
Looking at Superocen Steelfish, Avenger Seawolf, Chrono Avenger and the Colt GMT.
Anyone got/had one? I saw one guy put up pics of his - forget your name bud but if you see this then chip in with any comments
Friend of mine got a Seamaster and I wasn't overly impressed - nice watch but not for me.
Thx for reading.

RRP is usually around £1700, though if you're paying cash then you should be able to negotiate 10% - 15% off with a decent official dealer. Hint, I used Watches of Switzerland in Cardiff.
You might be able to get one slightly cheaper from Blitzwatches, but I preferred to buy from an authorised dealer with full iron-clad warranty, and get a cup of coffee while someone skilled adjusts the strap for me. Blitz reckon they give warranty on Breitling, but Breitling say they don't have any official internet dealers.
Here's a pic, give me a shout if you want to know anything else.
Oh, if you're serious about getting a Breitling there's a great forum here http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...rm_id=16&rid=0
If you head over there you'll probably find any questions you have will already have been asked/answered. They have a very good Breitling FAQ there too.

Cheers Iwan - that is an absolute cracker I think its between the Seawolf and the Chrono Avenger.
I'm heading into Glasgow tomorrow - WoS is one of the places I'm going to. Any tips to perform a successful negotiation

Have just modified my post up there ^^^^^^ with more info for you, have a read on that site and check out the FAQ.
Paying cash (debit card not credit card) helps, plus I took a printout of the same watch for sale at Blitz, and a printout of the page where they claim to have full warranty on Breitling. Then used the "I can get it cheaper here but would much rather buy it from a reputable dealers such as yourselves if the price was right".
Maybe also mention that it'd be cheaper for you to fly/drive to Cardiff and get one rather than pay RRP!
Here's the one at Blitz, i prefer it in grey though, obviously.

I'd been looking on Blitz for a while - the only thing that put me off (I thought) was the warranty support. Hadn't spotted the link for the Breitlings
Thx again for that - I'll let u know how I get on

Any good jewellery shop should match or get very close to blitz's prices if you ask them nicely and tempt them with an immediate purchase. I did this with my seamaster in Goldsmiths, got them down from £1100 to £910 which is only £20 off blitz's price and I get a full warranty from them.

Hmmm, typing that (without any spelling mistakes - hopefully) after drinking 1/3 of a bottle of Wild Turkey was pretty challenging.

Well I just became a dad for the 1st time 6mths ago, agreed that the mrs doesn't need to go back to work, having the RB5 was a bit overkill (it is a UK MY99 after all) and sold it this week for £11k.
So a JDM WRX/STi for 6k it is and a watch I've always wanted !!!
Roll on tomorrow

I bought a Titanium/gold Breitling Aerospace from a member of Scoobynet and must admit it is an excellent watch. Looks really good without being too flashy.Sadly I don't wear it enough as I have a Yachtmaster that just seems to belong on my wrist so Ill maybe sell it in the near future. Great watches though.

Not sure if available to general public or not but have heard Breitling have done a special edition limited edition run of sky marshall watches. Think there's only 300 being sold. Collectors piece in the making or what!!

Ive stepped forward..
Colt Chrono Avenger's are all brushed titanium, so the case and bracelet scratch easily.
A light brush against anything hard tends to scratch them, and its difficult to buff them out as the finish is brushed rather that polished.
They are extremely light in weight for their size, feeling almost fragile.
Ive owned one, and wished Id never sold it.
I currently like the Hercules range, shown below.
I currently own an Old Navitimer, B1 and a JP.
And an Emergency which is currrently being re-sealed.
I have also owned many others, but Ive swopped, changed and sold them.
I have owned an Omega GMT and SeaMaster, and sold them both to members on here, I rate Breitling well above Omega.

My pride and joy is still my Daytona Cosmograph.

My most worn watch is my Pro-Trek Casio G shock.

And my most abused watch is my Chase-Durer Trident

If I was you I would go for a B1, B2, or Hercules.............

I love the way Blitz have 'n/a' by the 'water resistant' spec on the watches marked 'superocean deepsea wrist crumbler'
Another option of course is to get it in the States - the VAT saving alone might pay for your flight to NY?
I couldnt see the 'Emergency' on the Blitz site - do they still do it as that will by my next Breitling (maybe) D

I nearly went for a B1 over the Seawolf, only thing that stopped me was it's barely waterproof which was a bit disappointing. Deffo wouldn't have a B2 or Hercules, the face has too much going on for my preference - that was a gripe i had about the Speedmaster.
Though the Seawolf is titanium, it's barely picked up any scratches so far and i wear mine every day. The only places that seem prone to scratching are the 4 tabs joined to the rotating bezel which hook over the front at 12, 3, 6 and 9. Two of those have got little scratches on where i've clipped it off machines at work. There's a small scratch on the underside of the bracelet from where i work at a computer and it rubs on the desk, but it's no-where near as bad as the Speedmaster for scratching.
I'll send it to Breitling for a service when it's 2 or 3 years old and get them to get all the nicks out, and change the face for an orange one.

yoza, that Hercules is gross, so it's irrelevant whether you rate Breitlings as better than Omegas!
And what's with the compass bezel? Completely pointless gimmick as far as I can tell
Am I the only person that thinks Breitlings are far too fancy/fussy
