It's ****, but full of people from Eastenders and the like.
Very expensive - but seems to fit what you were after
Alphabet bar's similar, not as expensive but still ****. BTW, my idea of **** is Soho, where all these bars are that you're after!!!!!

For somewhere she won't forget in a hurry, consider Vertigo 42 which is at the top of the Nat-West tower - the tallest building in the city and views are absolutely stunning.
Check it's open on Saturdays (I have a feeling it may not be, Rhodes 24 in the same building isn't) and try to squeeze it in on Friday if it's not. You'll also need to book in advance if you want a guaranteed window booth.

A bar / restaurant on Aldwych (just off Strand) called Bank is nice too. Very flash..pricey Martini's though. I'd take her to the American Bar in The Savoy (on The Strand), but I'm an old duffer and like the old wood-panelled elegance thing!

Mixed bunch of artists, up and coming musicians. Nice atmosphere, basically a place you could spend all day and night in.. and you are away from the ****** that populate bars in Soho/picadilly/covent garden etc etc..
I had a couple of drinks in vertigo 42 also - before going for a meal in Rhodes's place up there.. also very good
