Freeview - switching off "sign language"?
Have just gone digital via Freeview set top box. Some channels e.g. BBC News 24 seem to incorporate a character in the bottom right hand corner of the screen providing a sign language translation of the programme. Excellent idea if you're hard of hearing but, fortunately, I'm not.
Is it possible to switch the service off - is so how? I've been through all the onscreen menus in an effort to do so, but to no avail so far.
TIA

Like to know too.
I don't see the point of the signer. I mean, what %age of deaf people can't read subtitles. Anyway, like subtitles, you should be able to choose whether to turn them off or not. They take almost 20% of the darn screen up!

Notice this when the bird is watching Hollyoaks on C4.
Most annoying for me when I settled down to watch "Braveheart" for the first time on Sky movies the other day. Some bloke bottom right hand side doing sign for three hours odd was enough to spoil the ambeince of the film for me. Stopped watching after 5 mins.
