Been ripped off what can I do?
Hi
I was sold an item and photos were sent to me by email. The item turned up and it's damaged. Now looking back at the photos it's very clear to see that the photos have actually been photoshopped to cover up the damage
I can't go into any more details I'm afraid but I now need to know where I stand. I tried contacting the guy but there's been no reply yet.
Thanks for your advice
Paul

I should take some photo's to show the damage from the same angle as the "fixed" ones if you can, might need that as evidence. I understand that digital photo's are not admissable in court though, so your photo's should be normal negative types.

I had a feeling that you wouldn't get anymore money from him

I now have more digital photos of the damge but getting ordinary ones won't be any problem. What about his doctored photos though?
I've just been on the phone to the bank and the cheque cleared last week and there's nothing I can do about it now

I've sent him an email now telling him that I'm not happy with his doctored photos and that I'm seeking legal advice. I doubt he'll respond though
What do I need to do though because the guy is at the opposite end of the country to me Surely that'd make it difficult to take him to court?

Trouble is this ........ there is a doubt over who actually 'photoshopped' the photos isn't there? I am playing devils advocate here.
Name and shame I reckon would hurt much more!

Paul,
I saw the photo of the item the other day...
If i had bought them, I too would be extremely pi$$ed off at having been done over, and the guy shouldn't be allowed to just get away with it...
But, at the end of the day, is it really worth pursuing this guy through the courts?
IMHO, it would be less stressful to just have them reconditioned, and then you know you will have a set in top condition.
Gutted for you though
Richard

Do the rules allow you to pm people to warn them, personally?
If so ...... pm EVERYONE!!
Let me know the name by pm if allowed - I don't want to get caught out

Isn't sending doctored photos of an item like that obtaining money by deception? Surely it's fraudulent? Would the Police want to know?
Thanks
