Question where can i buy a cheapy stack system with a record player?

as above please, has to have a record player as it's for my parents who still think records are the best , also needs tape deck and cd aswell (i will get them to use those 'funny looking coasters' if it ******* kills me

i haven't got a clue where to look as i've had mine for years and the last stereo shop i went into was a bose shop and my dad would have a heart attack if he saw the prices of those

idealy want to see it in the flesh, but if anyone has any online shops that are a good price that would be appreciated.

richer sounds or hifibitz or checkout ebay some bargains to be had and some cack as well. Some used british record decks you can get refurbished for next to nothing and will blow the doors of most modern stuff.

whats the budget may be able to recommend some stuff.

Linn, NAD and my favourite the rega planar, a mate bought a rega planar 3 of ebay for £20 with cartridge, needed a new belt he wrote to rega, for a nominal amount they offered to service the unit, he is well chuffed he got it back looking like new.

You can get old Music Systems from Jumble Sales for £1 ..... maybe £10 if it has some nice Celestian Speakers with it.

These were about £400 30 years ago!

cheers guys, will pass that on. budget wise i'm not to sure, up to £100? it doesn't get used an awful lot and a top class sound will be lost on them (and me) TBH. just need something that does the job with the minimum of fuss

cant you leave me your old one in your will pete? you must be near to croaking age by now surely?
