I get a similar problem with my 550. The unit is 4 years old now, the power in socket is a little worn and doesn't hold the power lead in place very well. Whenever I go over a bump the lead gets jarred in its socket sometimes resulting in a low voltage warning and sometimes the whole system powers down and then back up again (or stays down if the lead has come loose enough) I'm probably going to resort to blu-tack to keep the wretched lead in place!

Similar topic guys if okay ??!! bel 980 here, when an alert comes in on the k band normally false I know !! the thing will beep once ?? and then start the clicking sound, a sort off quiet alert feature, pressing the audio button only switches the audio to totally silent, display only, any ideas on how to get a full tone warning as opposed to these clicks ??
bel980 is almost exact in style to the bel550 hence question.
cheers

Sounds like a loose connection have you tried the other cable that comes with it? I have had this happen to me a few times but not so much recently. As the post says 2 above, its quite old now and just dozes off when it feels like it!

Not sure that you can. What about using an in line "capacitor" to keep the power delivery to the unit smoother? If that fails why don't you try giving it a direct feed but fused for pritection?
I get this with mine every now and then. I find switching it off, then on again works.
Hope these suggestions help.
