Default Yet another ebay scam..02 m3 for £12.5k!!

Check this out

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...517830603&rd=1

I emailed the guy and he gave what appears to be a standard reply, explaining that the car is in Greece and would be shipped across, at his expense, as soon as my £12.5k lands in his bank via TT...the guy has a bloody cheek!

Hello again,

I am glad that you decided to go ahead with this purchase. The payment must be
done using a money transfer service. I prefer money transfer because in this way
I will ship the car in the same day you make the payment. You will arrange
payment through Western Union so you have to make me a confirmation of GBP4000.
The balance of GBP4000 will be sent as soon as the car has arrived and it is
inspected and tested.

After you've completed the transfer you will receive a confirmation that will
alow me to track the transfer. Here are the details that I need:

-sender name and address
-receiver name
-exact amount wired
-MTCN # (10 digits)
-if it is possible a scanned copy of the receipt format .JPEG for me to add to
the files

As soon as the payment will be confirmed and the money properly sent, I will
IMMEDIATELY proceed and I will ship the car by truck and it will take up to five
days untill you will have it delivered to your location. Again, the shippping
will be made on my own expenses and you won't have to pay any duty customs
taxes, fees or any other hidden taxes. The GBP4,000 of payment are fully
refundable if for any reason you do not accept the car or if the car has
scratches, hidden defects, or it is not as advertised. I will even pay for the
shipping back to my location if you reject the car but since it is garage kept,
works and looks perfectly I think it would not get to this.

Here is my name and address you need to organise the western union transfer:

First name:JAMES
Last name:*******
Address:***********
City:BRESCIA
Zip:25128
Country:ITALY

If you agree with these terms, let me know and I will be more than glad to
complete the transaction with you. Don't forget to include me your full shipping
adress so I can secure the shipment for you. Thank you and I hope that you will
have the pleasure to drive this beautiful and powerful car as I did.

Cordially yours,
James
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I sent him a fake western union scan, so he had a wasted journey to the western union office to pick up some non existant cash

Idiot

There was another one, selling for 9k (again, a 2003 M3 drop top) claiming on receipt of the cash he would send the car from croatia via FEDEX!

The worst thing is that ebay are aware of all these scams but do absolutely nothing to eliminate them.....
