Question Attn: R/C Nitro Car Owners

Looking to get a new car early this year but have a quick question . . .

Would the 1/10 Touring/Rally car types be suitable for running on a football pitch type surface ? Or would it be best to stick to offroad models with better ground clearance ?

Cheers,
Dunk

It really depends on how long the grass is!!! Unless it's astroturf. I'd go for an off roader or 'Stadium Truck' if running on short grass. The Touring cars (I think) are really only suited to running on a smooth flat surface (pref tarmac or the likes). If you only have access to long grass, then a monster truck is the way to go. I bought a 'Stadium Truck' last year, and it's great on tarmac, or short grass, but the problem is the local council obviuosly do not cut the grass in the winter, and the fields are a little too long to run on. Wish I had bought a monster truck (HPI Savage), as I'd have a lot more playing ground.

Quite fancy one myself having bought the kids one for Christmas, just an electric one and its great fun, however is there any way of getting away from feeling a complete tool when playing with an R/C car ?

Great fun matey . Had mine since a bit before crimbo. Used it 2 weeks ago and it was the first time its been used and i havent broke something yeehaaaa

The touring cars maybe quickest but i think you are limited as to where you can use them. You need a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig smooth area for sure. Off roaders are much better IMHO

hi fella,

i would say get a 1/8th scale buggy, i`ve got a Hyper 7 sport, great on short grass or tarmac, and you can get a very good one for less than you think, from hong kong

I'll second the 1/8th buggy. I have a Hyper 7 Pro and there are not many places it can't go. I have a couple of so called rally cars in 1/8th and 1/10th and they struggle on anything other than tarmac or gravel.

I've just broken my Savage (snapped the steering coupling to the servo). Guess barrel rolling it down the field after a bad landing from leaping over a branch didn't do it too much good

Just need to find where to get some spares now....
