Was on that Streetmap.co.uk looking for rivers etc close to a house we are thinking of buying. I noticed that there is a blue line for a river (safe distance from the house) however also a purple line. Anyone know what this is? There is a graveyard in the immediate area and it may be to do with this but I am unsure.

Have you tried the Enviroment Agency website:

Shows you the areas at risk of flood and if severe risk/low risk etc

EDIT: forgot to say that the purple line is normally where the flood defences are!

Cheers BOB, unfortunately, they do not seem to cover Scotland though!
