The governing body of the Lake district national park is run by unelected idiots who seem intent on destroying the tourisim in the area!! They are the same people who have banned water skiing from every lake in the park(including Windermere in march 2005)! I wonder who they will target next???

In this case, the LDNPA are not actually elected members they are just a self contrived group of idiots who seem to think they can do what they like, and pass by-laws that can and will wreck hundreds of people livelyhoods!

Difficult to believe isn't it? Time we booted these Roman sandal wearers up the "arris" and took our own country back again before it is too late.
If the ethnic minorities are really interested in the Lake District I am quite sure they will visit it anyway and I bet they will be the first to say that they don't expect special treatment at the expense of the traditional guided tours. As a significantly disabled person I certainly don't. They are probably lost in wonderment at the attitudes of these idiots.

Read the article carefully. Nothing to do with PC directly, but all to do with money.
As I read it, they don't get any subsidies for showing around the white middle class. But if they are seen to be helping ethnic minorities, disabled, black lesbian single parents etc etc, then they qualify for national handouts. So, in order to get the money, that's what they're focussing on.

But the authority claims the plan aims to attract more ethnic minorities, inner-city children and disabled people to the area and attract more national and European funding.

They seem to have completely overlooked the fact that the reason they don't get many disabled black lesbians touring the lake district is presumably because:-
1) There aren't that many disabled black lesbians
2) There are even fewer disabled black lesbians interested in seeing beauty spots in the lake district
Go down to Ladye Bay at Clevedon on a weekend and you will see a load of people fishing....all of them white middle class. Clearly we need to ban them from fishing and instead pay for illegal immigrants to come up and fish.... whether they like it or not!!!

Some 'people' have decided that being White Middle Class is bad, therefore anything WMC is to be stopped, Blacks and Indians are to be brought into to alter the dynamic. If they don't want to go, they will be sent at gun point because we can't have WMC enjoying themselves without a 'quota' of so called minorities included.

given that some very historical water events have taken place on windermere, i find it amusing...
watch out the north sea will become a boat free zone next..
i agree with the jet skis ban, but not other boats and speed restrictions..

I hardly think a few hundred water/jet skiers not coming to Windermere is going to economically cripple the Southern Lake District and anyway there will be a corresponding increase in yachtsmen/fishermen/canoeists.
As for green-laners I haven't got a problem with them at all. Most of the damage they are accused of doing is caused by farm tractors, they don't make much noise and most importantly of all they are actually going somewhere, not just driving round and round the same couple of square miles.

Maybe we should pressure the Government to give grants to Rave Clubs to subsidise white middle class OAP's who go raving? You know cheap entrance and drinks to encourage a more diverse type of people going!
Why the Establishment have to spend our Taxes to try and make people go to things they are not interested in? If people from different social groups want to visit certain things and places let them but don’t waste money trying to force them to make those choices especially whilst penalising the people who are actually interested in these things.
