Had a great time in Scotland for New Year
But I hate the roads.... Bloody things are responsible for:
1 x 215/45/17 tyre being utterly f*cked
2 x 17" alloys needing serious straightening
Hitting a massive pothole at 60 on a bend (right on the driving line) with a FULL car (4 adults, full boot) does NOTHING to your nerves or the state of your wheels.
(for those that know the roads... road 'tween Crianlarich and Oban - up on the moorlands stretch)
Does anyone know of someone in the Derby area that refurbs alloys? I need to get these straightened sharpish....
Incidentally I saw another car (people carrier) empty of people all looking at the front near side which was lying in the road as the front wheel was lying in pieces under the car just after this bend.
I now know why people in Scotland drive:
a) in the middle of the road all the time
b) go so slow 'round bends.
Oh, and Stirling is gorgeous and the £8 to get in the Castle is worth it

Many of the roads up there are maintained by a bear - it says so on the signs... I aint messing with a bear who repairs roads!!!!
